Julianadorp aan Zee
Julianadorp aan Zee is a coastal town in the head of Noord-Holland, located at the foot of the dunes. Behind the dunes, about 400 meters away, is the beautiful wide sandy beach, for a nice day at the beach, a nice walk at the beach or to get a breath of fresh air. At the beach entrance is also a beach pavilion (Paal 6), which is open all year round. The beach entrance has the blue flag and there is a beach post of the rescue brigade. Julianadorp aan Zee is a good base for walking and cycling trips through the vast dunes and polders and in spring along the flowering flower bulb fields.
De Helderse Vallei
A nature and environmental education center, is only a few kilometers north of Julianadorp aan Zee. De Helderse Vallei includes a visitor center, petting zoo, open air theater, lookout tower, barefoot path, canoe rental and a climbing park. De Helderse Vallei is also a base for walks and bike rides.

Texel
Take a day out on Texel. The ferry from Den Helder takes you to the island in about twenty minutes. Here you can enjoy cycling, visit Ecomare, or go fishing with a shrimp cutter and watch seals on the mudflats.

Schagen
Visit Schagen, with a cozy center with cafes and restaurants, and shopping mall. The weekly market is held every Thursday morning and in the summer there is the West Frisian market for 10 weeks, where the market is all about West Frisian folklore.
